Open Access
Open-Access pertains to scholarly articles that are freely and publicly accessible for reading, sharing, or downloading. This level of accessibility enables students, researchers, and other users to read, download, cite, copy, distribute, print, or link to the material while adhering to legal and academic guidelines. The complete texts of such articles are available without the need for prior permission. These works are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International license (CC BY 4.0), which permits usage and distribution provided proper attribution is given to the original author.
Article Processing Charges (APC)
The Gold Open Access model is adopted by CM to ensure the immediate availability of content upon publication. The expenses associated with publishing are met through Article Processing Charges (APC). These charges are typically borne by the author, their affiliated institution, or the funding organisation, while the author retains full ownership of their work. The articles, in turn, are licensed by CM.

Permission and Copyright
CM grants original authors the right to reuse their Gold Open Access articles.
Most articles remain entirely under the ownership of their authors, who authorise the reuse of their work under open licenses, such as the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC-BY 4.0). This allows content to be reused, provided appropriate attribution is given to both the original author and the publisher.
However, for articles containing visual elements, prior permission must be obtained from the relevant publisher or author to reproduce specific figures, as these are subject to the copyright of the original rights holders.
Author’s Rights and Permissions
Under Gold Open Access Contributions, authors are granted the following rights in accordance with the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 License (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/):
- Authors may copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format.
- Authors are permitted to modify, transform, or adapt the content for any purpose.
- Authors are entitled to archive their articles without restrictions under the Gold Open Access category. Articles can be deposited in institutional repositories, non-commercial platforms, or personal websites immediately after publication on the journal’s website. This is compliant with the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Public License (CC-BY 4.0).
To comply with the license terms, authors must observe the following conditions:
- Attribute the original authors and publisher appropriately, include a link to the license, and specify if modifications were made. Attribution must be provided in a reasonable manner that does not imply endorsement by the licensor.
- Do not impose additional restrictions. Authors must refrain from applying legal terms or technological measures that would restrict others from exercising the rights conferred by the license. Adherence to these licensing requirements is mandatory when utilizing the material.
